AX-S4 61850 ("Access for 61850")
is
a
complete
IEC 61850 interface for host applications supporting OPC on the
Microsoft Windows platform. AX-S4 61850 supports both IEC
61850 client and server capabilities to provide the tools needed to
interface Windows applications supporting OPC and/or DDE
interfaces. AX-S4 61850 brings real-time data from IEC 61850 compatible
intelligent electronics devices (IEDs) such as
RTUs, protection relays, meters, and load tap changers to the desktop.
Useful for substation automation
computers
needing access to data in IEC61850 IEDs, testing/configuration of IEC
61850 devices, and for interfacing with non-IEC 61850 devices.

AX-S4 61850
Features
- OPC V3.0 Data Access (DA) Server interface supports
IEC61850 access for many off-the-shelf OPC compatible
applications.
- Supports
IEC 61850 parts 6-1, 7-2, 7-3, 7-4, and 8-1 including
the Abstract Communication Service Interface (ACSI), Generic Object
Oriented Substation Event (GOOSE), and Generic Substation Status Event
(GSSE) services.
- Supports unsolicited
report-by-exception messaging using
IEC61850 buffered and unbuffered reports with automatic configuration
and enabling of report control blocks to simplify interfacing with
existing OPC based products.
- Configuration of device network
and data models is supported via Substation Configuration Language
(SCL) file import or by retrieving
device object descriptions from
devices over the network for quick and easy setup.
- OPC Server for GOOSE/GSSE
multicast services is
included to send and receive
real-time
protection data used by relays and other substation protection and
metering devices. Configuration of both send and receive functions for
GOOSE is supported using SCL file import.
- Includes
an IEC 61850 server that interfaces to user supplied OPC servers that
converts non-IEC 61850 devices and protocols to
IEC 61850 for low-cost data translation and protocol conversion. IEC
61850 server functions supports most ACSI services including reporting
and controls (normal security).
- Configuration of device network and data models is
supported via Substation Configuration Language (SCL) file import or by
retrieving
device object descriptions from
devices over the network for quick and easy setup.
- Interactive Object Explorer
provides point & click access to network objects and system
configuration for user interaction and check-out.
- DDE Server supports variable,
journal/log, controls, domain, file, and program
invocation services including cut-and-paste of hot-links to Excel and
other DDE enabled applications
- Supports Windows XP SP3, Server 2003, Windows 7, and
Windows Server 2008 R2 as a 32-bit application.
